When I make sloppy joe from scratch. I just use ketchup, a bit of mustard, a dash of w. sauce and of course the hamburger is cooked with onions and peppers. When it is all put together, add just a bit of rolled oats, and let it thicken. So, why not just make ketchup? Then put it together when you are ready to fix it.
