I came across these today and thought I'd share the recipe. They look really yummy.
Oat-rageous Cookies
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup English toffee bits or almond brickle
chips
In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugars. Beat in egg, water and
vanilla.
Combine flour, baking soda and alt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Drop by tablespoonfuls 3" apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks.
Enjoy! Gina
