| We used to go to a deli to get cold butter beans in a brown sugar type sauce. I have not seen them anywhere. I would love to make some. I have my dry limas soaking overnight. thank you. |

| Did you ever get a recipe? I remember seeing those beans in the deli and in the Amish market, did they have a "real" name that might help in a recipe search. |

| I just winged it. I saved a bit of the soaking liquid and mixed in some brown sugar and a little molasses. I also sauteed some thinly sliced onion and mixed it in. It wasn't quite like my childhood memory, but it was good enough. |
