I looking for ways to fix beans. A friend brought a big bag of beans and I have sorted them into 3 groups. Tender green bean snaped, green beans in the pod but not so tender and shelled beans.

Some of the tender will be pickled.

My mother-in-law used to fix the not so tender ones and hubby loved them. She was from the south. But there is nobody to guide me, so I need HELP!!!!!!

I (don't cringe) put a little bacon grease in my pan and get it hot and stir the beans around in that, you can add chopped garlic or onions or both. Add water and simmer until tender. Add about a teaspoon of sugar and salt to taste after they are tender.
If you don't have bacon grease substitute olive oil.
