LOOKING for: Russian Special Occasion Cake

Hello. My cousin is taking a college math class with a Russian professor she really admires. Her professor has told the class frequently about a cake that she loves that is traditionally eaten for special occasions. She would love to make one of these cakes for her, but she doesn't have many details about it (and we don't have a Russian bakery or restaurant in the area to buy one from). She does know that it is a moist cake with fruit in it.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be?

Thanks,
Gail
