Beef and Onion Crostini

Hi...I'm new on this board and have a few questions about a recipe.

My hubby and I love to entertain, and we do so very frequently. We've always been told that we do top-notch, elegant dinners. We are planning a wine tasting/pairing party in June and I've been planning the menu for weeks now. I'd like to serve a beef and onion crostini along with our Cabernet pairing, but don't want to have to cook the beef myself (hubby is vegetarian and it's been years since I've made any red meat). Is it possible to purchase rare cooked roast beef from the deli and use that? Would I need to reheat it, or could this be served room temp?

We're planning on having 6 stations as well as a dessert/port station to end the affair. Thanks for any help you can offer.

RE: Beef and Onion Crostini

Welcome! You probably could but really it would be so fast to sear or grill the meat I wouldn't bother with the deli meat. Whenever I've bought deli roast beef it's been tough.
