RECIPE: Peels and Cores Apple Jelly

Hey,

I am trying for the first time to make peels and cores apple jelly. One recipe I had said to boil the cores and peels for 30 minutes. Well as a mom with 3 boys that extended to 40 minutes and now the liquid is VERY cloudy. When I returned to the internet to figure things out I found out that most peels and cores recipes only require it to be boiled for 10 to 15 minutes. So then I started freaking out..

I have strained it and the cloudiness will not go away. What I want to know is whether or not it is safe to use if it is cloudy.

Is it cloudy cause something was on the apples the got released with the extra cooking time?

I spend a large fortune on apple jelly for my son every week and I thought this was a way to save money. Make a batch freeze what is not eaten right away, taken care of for a few weeks and now extra cost..

So hopefully someone will be able to calm my mommy nerves. We have more apples, so if I should dump this batch I would rather do that than risk the health of my child.

Thanks
