RECIPE: Creamy Italian salad dressing

Posted by brenda55 (My Page) on

I tried a new dressing for a mixed green salad to go with our spag/meat balls. I got it from and it was really good and the family really liked it from the picky dd who hates onions to the picky "I want pbj" dgd.

Creamy Italian Salad Dressing:

1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 small onion
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon white sugar
3/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
In a blender or food processor, combine mayonnaise, onion, vinegar, and sugar. Season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth.

Thanks for posting it, Brenda. I bet it would be good using fresh lemon juice also.

Thanks Brenda, I love creamy dressings - why should a salad be health food for pete's sake. They should be delicious!

I've been buying Hellman's light mayo and really like it. I'm going to try this recipe. Thanks for posting it.
