A few months ago I saw a recipe (maybe at this forum) using a cake mix and a pie filling. I have the cake mix and pie filling, but can't find the recipe. Can anybody help me? Thx

I don't have the recipe before me, but I am thinking it is Dump Cake. This is what I do,

    1 can cherry pie filling
1 can crushed pineapple, including juice
    1 butter cake mix
    1 stick butter
    chopped walnuts or pecans

Preheat oven to 350, spread cherry pie filling in 9X13 pan, top with crushed pineapple. Sprinkle cake mix on top and dot with sliced butter and nuts. Bake for 45 min. to an hour.

Don't know if this one was posted here but it is a nice summer dessert:
    Lemon Pillow Cake

    1 white cake mix
    1 can lemon pie filling

Mix cake as directed on box and pour into a 9x13 pan. Place spoonsful of lemon pie filling in blobs over batter. Bake as directed on the box. Let cool completely. Cake batter covers blobs, so there will be pockets of lemony filling inside.

    Frosting

1 can ready to spread lemon flavored frosting
    1 tub of Cool Whip

Mix frosting and Cool Whip together and spread on cake. This does need to be kept refrigerated.
Think it came from Taste of Home.

Yes there was a thread with some recipes for this type of cake. I added this recipe at that time:

    "Eva's Pumpkin Cake"

    1 - 15oz can pumpkin
    1 - 12oz can evaporated milk
    3 eggs
    1 C white sugar
    4 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
    1 - 18.5oz pkg yellow cake mix
    3/4 C butter, melted
1Â 1/2 C chopped walnuts (you can use any nut)

Combine the first 5 ingredients in a bowl. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan.
Pour dry cake mix on top.
Drizzle melted butter on to of cake mix.
Sprinkle nuts on top of everything.

Bake in 350 degrees oven for 1 hour, or until toothpick comes out clean. Serve with whip cream or ice cream.Â

In 9x13 pan empty pie filling; swirl in extract.
Sprinkle with cake mix; drizzle with butter.
Sprinkle with almonds. Bake 350 F. about 45 min.
or until lightly browned on top.

Mix together all ingredients with a spoon. Mix well, but do not beat. Pour into greased 9X13X2-inch baking pan and bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake test done. Cool and frost if desired.

Yum..that choc/cherry cake is one of our favorites, Marilyn. I got the recipe from a community cookbook and it came with this frosting (another yum):

Boil one minute: 1 cup sugar, 5 tablespoons butter, 1/3 cup milk. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips until smooth. Pour over partially cooled cake.

The cake's good made with spice cake mix and apple pie filling, too.
