| 4 cups flour 1/4 cup sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1-1/2 cups buttermilk 4 tbls cold butter (cut to small pieces) 1 large egg 1 cup raisins (I buy Sunsweet Jumbo Red Raisins) Sift together first 5 ingredients....In a seperate bowl whisk together the egg and butter milk and add to dry mixing and combining with a fork but do not overmix! Cut in and combine the butter... Add raisins and combine same method....*NOTE* mixture will be a little wet not to worry! Turn out on counter and gather to create a round bread that is patted on the top not a big mound a slight mound...ADDITIONAL: beat one egg lightly a slather the whole top & sides of bread with egg and then sprinkle top an sides with 1/4 cup granulated sugar....Cook in a preheated 350 degree oven for approx 45 minutes on parchment paper! Cool on a wire rack and when cool sprinkle with confectioners sugar! |

| CORRECTION...........2 tsp baking powder an its 60 minutes!!!!!!!!! SORRY I have my head loose this week |
