Wow. I can't imagine. We always put the house on the market and move into a hotel or rental until it sells. I can't imagine the stress on both ends at the same time. Congrats!

I did it- 1200 miles apart- and it traumatized me to the point that it stuck with me for over a year. That's how I became addicted to this particular forum :)

I just sold and bought at the same time as well. The two 30-day closings were on the same day, literally 1.5 hours apart. The stress and amount of work was unbelievable, but somehow we survived.

I did the same thing and it was such a terrible stress. We had a 5 hour gap between needing to be out and being able to move into our new home. We had to pay for our movers to sit on the street with all our stuff loaded into the vans. The selling owners of our new home were unhappy that they didn't get what they thought they deserved for their home, so they wouldn't turn over keys until exactly at 6pm. It was ridiculous. In the end the 6pm deadline came and went and still no keys....we had to break into our own home. I am not sure I would ever do that again.

I too didn't sleep for weeks and got such terrible stomach aches for weeks afterwards. Not sure it's worth it to put that much stress on ourselves!
