 o
Hold Harmless standard with relocation companies?

Can anyone tell me if a Hold Harmless form is standard issue when purchasing a home through a relocation company? The HH form came after there was a signed contract and nowhere in the signed contract did it mention having to sign the HH form. There were a few addendums referrenced but they have been accounted for. The relocation company is now saying that they will not close if the HH form is not signed. Is this legal? Can it vary state to state?

Check with your lawyer, or the real estate board in your state. Not sure exactly what Hold Harmless means, but may be a way to avoid paying anything for anything that goes wrong.

I've purchased two different homes from relo companies, one in Ohio in 1980 and one in Tennessee in 2000 - neither required a Hold Harmless form at the time. Not sure what it is or if it's regional or relatively new, I agree with mariend - check with your attorney.
