I will try to make this short and I may not have the exact details but this is the case: a friend of mine started the process of buying a house in the town where I live in about July maybe even the end of June. She wasn't working with a local agent when she found this house but from the town where she was living. I remember my friend saying that her agent told her to offer $10K more than her original offer and the bank accepted it. She had an inspection, given permission to have the locks changed(no key) and she even started doing a little yard work since the house had been vacant for a period of time. I was waiting to hear from her any time that she would be signing final papers and moving in. Today she came to visit and told me her agent said that the bank "gave" it to Fannie Mae!
I will admit these details are sketchy but does she have any recourse? Hopefully she will get her money back, which she paid to the bank months ago! Should she see a real estate attorney?
