I've got a potential job opportunity in Long Grove, IL. Real estate prices seem to be pretty reasonable out there; a little less than were I live now (about an hour north of Seattle). Any general (or specific!) info about the area (including schools, etc) would be welcome!

Long Grove is not really that close to Chicago. You will be out in the far suburbs. It has been years since we lived north of Chicago in another area, but at the time, Long Grove was a quaint, distant, rural area. It was famous for cute antique and craft shops and ladies would do a day of shopping and browsing and lunching there for a lovely outing. The schools were good as I recall.
