As a buyer - that would be a negative to me. I sure would pay less to be next to that.

No one likes to live beside a substation.

Some folks do not want to even have one down the street.

I should have been more clear. I realize this board is for buying and selling a home but remember the great advice I got here years ago when that was my situation. I'm hoping to get advice from a professional although all thoughts are appreciated.

The surrounding farm property will probably go for commercial development instead of residential.

I'm a real estate broker in Texas, & I'd never advise a client or friend to sell land for such a thing if he/she were going to still own land near it.

The stations are unsightly at best, & there's a lot of controversy about their safety (google something like "electric lines leukemia").
