I like Warm and Natural all cotton, but there are about as many opinions as people on batting preference. Machine or hand quilting, puffy or flat, warmth of wool, etc.

If there is white in the blocks, I think you cannot go wrong using the Warm and White - the bleached white version of Warm and Natural - 100% cotton. Yay for you for finishing the first project of your Mom's.

I buy Warm and Natural by the roll and use it in most of my quilts. I agree, if there is a lot of white you may want to use Warm and White.

I copy Grammyp. I buy Warm & Natural in the big rolls and use it almost exclusively. Scraps get used in the smaller wall hangings, pot holders, etc.

Different battings will allow you to quilt in different ways. For quilts that you'll be using/washing, then it can be important to follow manufacturer instructions. Some will allow quilting 10" apart, others only 4" apart. If you know how you want your quilting to look, that may dictate the brand/kind you choose.

I agree with the Warm and Natural or Warm and White. I also buy it by the roll and use it for everything.
