Hi, everyone! I'm new to this forum. I usually hang out in the Harvest, Cooking and several forums devoted to veggie gardening. However, I am looking for a pattern for the Sioux Star quilt for a friend and myself and hoped someone on here could help me. TIA for any responses from you.

Welcome! Not sure what you have in mind, but maybe this site will give you some ideas. Hope it helps.

If you are talking of what I think you are, then Sharon's link should help. I am linking to a more informal site, with more informal intructions for making the Sioux stars, in general. If you have a quilting background, you should be able to take it and run with it, if you don't I think it's still easy enough to guide you. http://starquilts.com/starborn.htm I don't know why, but the window would not let me link to it

Looks like Sioux star is another name for the Lone Star pattern. I was familiar with the Sioux tradition, but not the lone star pattern. IOW if you can make a bargello, you can make a Lone star. Here's a video you might enjoy. I am cranked.......I could DO THIS!

I'm sorry, this is the link I meant to post. I am still drinking my morning cafeine and not awake yet. It's one of our fav quilters in a video.

Thanks geezerfolks and calliope for the websites you posted. Both will be a great help in creating the Sioux Star Quilt.
