Quilts for kids volunteer WARNING!!!!!!!

Posted by rosajoe (My Page) on

Just a heads up!!!!!!!!!
I was told that some of the precut fabric in the kits was not cut exactly so be sure to measure first!!!!
They probably have a lot of tired volunteers cutting the fabric for the kits.
I would have just jumped in and not measured and one person did the same and said they had a lot of ripping out which I totally loath doing LOL.
But the great news is everyone thinks the fabric is adorable!!!

Thanks Rosa,

I did sign up for one of their quilt kits, and it should be here next week. I will measure everything.

I thought this was a way to do one of their quilts, and another of my own with juvenile fabrics. If, however, their cuts are not accurate, I'll just make my own to send in the future. I HATE working with inaccurately cut pieces.

I agree Mary! Not everyone has had problems, but enough have that it was posted on another forum.
The quilt pics they have posted are darling.
Maybe yours will be OK.
I have 2 baby showers, 2 sister's birthday, and company for the holidays so I will have to wait until after the holidays to order mine.

Mary I am so glad!!! I know they are volunteers and like everything else some are better than others. I know I have cut fabrics wrong when I thought I was being very accurate!
The kits come fairly fast and I am looking forward to making them.
I have only heard very good comments about the fabrics.
