Rosa, I'm sorry for your loss.

It is a very special honor to be buried in a military cemetery. Two years ago both my mother and father were dying. My dad went first. I managed to keep it together until the ceremony in the cemetery when the honor guard presented me, as the oldest child, with a flag and said words to this effect, "The president of the United States thanks your father for his service to the Country." The tears poured down my face. Six days after dad died, my mom died, and we were back at the cemetery. Every time I visit, I am struck by the number of grave markers and I remember the sacrifice made by so many of our countrymen. Thank you, Veterans and your families. And let's hope we can end these wars soon, so all of our troops can come home.

So sorry to hear about your Uncle. Ours died in April and was at Omaha Beach landing. I'll hang his flag outside in the morning. So many of the WWII vets are gone now. We have another on his last days with hospice right now who was a prisoner in a German camp. He'll be gone soon. I hope people will remember all that they did. And, Alzheimers is awful. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

So sorry for your loss Rosa. Alzheimer's is a horribly heartbreaking disease.

I have been to too many Military funerals at Arlington National Cemetery. An experience one never walks away from without feeling pride.

Rosa, Your nephew (& all the other brave men and women) who is deployed, should be honored and thanked everyday for their sacrifices.

I don't think you want to find out how he got the mohawk.

I'm so sorry for your loss Rosa. My husband's family lost an aunt to Alzheimer's this past week as well. As Marsha says, it is a heartbreaking disease.
