| Thank you so much Sharon for sending me this top. Sharon (geezerfolks) sent me this top to help with my comfort quilts at work, I think it came out very well. This one is going to our Chaplin at work. She has been diagnosed with colon cancer (hence the blue binding)and is taking a leave during treatment. The outer border is actually a royal purple, but looks blue in the picture. I did learn that circles are not my friend, but if I keep working at it, I think I can get better.

YOU may not think circles are your friends, but I think you did a fine job on this one. Yes, they will get better with practice, but this is a terrific start. Good job! And how kind of you to make something so colorful for someone who is going through such a "dark" time in their personal history. This will surely promote healing. LOVE IT!

What a beautiful quilt! And I'm very impressed with your circles Beverly. I think this quilt will bring comfort and smiles - both gifts the Chaplin can use. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. Susan

It turned out beautifully. It was lovely to begin with, Sharon, and Bev turned it into a lovely remembrance. We're waiting to see you make one for yourself, Bev. LOL

This pattern looks like shooting star, isn't it? I think we did that on one of Cathy or Vicky's lottos. It's a wonderful pattern. I love the material choices and you all did a wonderful job. She would cherish it, I'm sure.

Beverly & Sharon you both did a fabulous job on this quilt!! It's perfect! I'm using that same pattern for my guild's BOM for next July! I'm looking for the perfect small print just like yours, Sharon, with the same bold/jewel solids for the star points! We do think alike!

Thanks for the great comments everyone. I kind of cheated on the circles. I drew them all around the quilt, then sewed a serpentine line around doing one side of one circle and the other side of the next, then on the next round got the other sides. (does that make any sense to you?) The pattern is Shooting Star and I will be using it again. (Great way to use up small pieces of our hand dyed, right Jennifer) Even DH was pleased with this one. Thanks so much for the wonderful top Sharon, it was a joy to work with. beverly

Beverly, What a great way to do circles!! You're a smarty! You are welcome and you did an excellent job in completing the quilt and I hope the chaplain draws peace and comfort from it. (you need anymore tops?) Thank you, everyone. This quilt actually had it's start right here in the class we had about using scraps. Jennifer, With the print I used, I found the corner fabric really does need to be a bold/jewel, otherwise it just washes away. I'm pleased with the way it turned out. Sharon

Sharon, if you have any more tops, I will gladly find them a good home. We have lots of people at work that would appreciate them. Santa is talking about a mid-arm and frame for Christmas, so I will need some practice pieces. beverly
