I've been using Bonnie's system for years. It works!
|
I also have used this system. Recently I went through my piles of fabric that was not sorted, and broke them down into 2x2 squares, 5x5 squares, and cut the tumbers (from a template I had) with what ever I could get from the pieces. I actually made 2 charity quilts for my guild using the scraps only that I had and got members going doing the same thing. All the quilts from the pieces were neat looking, not to mention the cost saving and cleaning out the bins were a hit with everyone. All came out quite different and no one had to buy a pattern to do them!

Don't you just love Bonnie's site! She is so generous with her ideas and projects. Starting soon, she will be doing another Quiltville Mystery Quilt. I always wanted to do a mystery quilt so I'm going to try this one. Gotta use up those scraps. ~Geraldine

This is some great information! Even though I'm just starting with my stash, it's amazing how quickly scraps will add up. She's done some beautiful quilts with all those scraps! I have one of those roll around drawer things at home that will be the perfect home to start stashing my scraps! Robbi

She is grand! Don't miss her section on crumb quilting.
