Off Topic - Prayers needed

Posted by polardream (My Page) on

This is totally not quilting related - but you all are part of my extended family and we can use all the prayers we can get. My great-nephew Nathan turned 2 today. He "celebrated" his birthday at Phoenix Childen's Hospital - being prepped for sarcoma cancer surgery tomorrow morning at 8:00 am. If you would please hold him & mom& dad(my nephew), along with the surgeons in prayer I would really appreciate it. This tells a little about how rare this form of cancer is ... it's about our little guy.
Thanks for your prayers.

We'll certainly keep you all in our prayers. It's so hard when someone we love -& so small- must go thro difficulties such as this. If we could only trade places with them. Let us know when you can how he's doing.

RE: Off Topic - Prayers needed - UPDATE

Thanks you everyone!

Surgery went GREAT! Two tumors removed - surgery went faster than expected and Nathan is in PICU. He will be at Phoenix Children's until next Tues/Wed., then transferred to St. Josephs for radiation. He will be there for 7 days. If everything goes according to plan, any remaining cancer cells will be blasted. Thank you all for your prayers!

RE: Off Topic - Prayers needed - UPDATE

UPDATE 10-26-2010

I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers for our little Nathan. He went home from the hospital after 17 days and is doing pretty well. They are pretty sure they got all of the tumor and then had 14 rounds of radiation. He is a tough little fighter. He has a tough road with physical therapy and lots of healing but his mom & dad are very postive. Thanks again for all your support!

RE: Off Topic - Prayers needed

Sue,

Thanks so much for the update. I was wondering how Nathan was doing. I'm very glad he was able to go home. Home, and a little bit of "normal" life is such a relief after a long stay in the hospital. We will continue to keep him and his family in our prayers.

Sue, I guess I'm coming to this post kinda late we have a new grandson too. I can't imagine what the horror of facing this kind of pain and risk is. I will hold all of you in my heart when I'm holding my little one.

Courage and peace. I hope you are seeing that things are better at this point and encouraged about a full recovery.

How wonderful it will be if at this young age he doesn't remember the pain of the struggle he's had and only the triumph.

 o
RE: Off Topic - Prayers needed

I'm not a frequent visitor to this forum, but so glad the outcome was good. Will add an extra prayer for continued healing.
