November Fat Quarter Swap

2009 FAT QUARTER SWAP
This will our last fat quarter swap of the year. If you have any questions please contact me or post to this thread. Michelle/ MICYREY was hostess along with with me for this year and I hope everyone has had fun.
Please send no more than 8 FQs for this last swap. They can be from your stash or purchased for the swap. All FQs need to be at least 18x22 inches. If you have some pieces that are a little larger, please don't trim them - a little larger is fine. If you send 4 you will get 4 back, if you send 8 you will get 8 back, and so on.
Please no sticky labels or staples on fabric.
Pack FQs in a plastic baggie with your name (real name and GardenWeb name) on the bag and be sure the fabric is odor and hair free - clean and ready to use fabric that you would want to use in a quilt. If not, the FQs will be returned to you. 100% cotton fabric only please.
When you mail, put your zipped plastic bags into a large mailing envelope along with an 8 1/2" x 11" (or larger) mailing envelope with your name and mailing address on the front and return postage IN STAMPS to cover the return of your fabrics. (Do not use metered postage from the post office on your return envelopes. It will not work!) A little extra postage on your return envelope would be helpful on the off chance that you are short. I know everyone tries her best, but I was short quite a lot when I remailed for the last swap. You don't have to add a lot of extra postage, but a little extra will help because sometimes the fabric coming back to you weighs more than what you sent. In one case, the weight caused me to have to send using priority mail so you know that costs more. With the last swap, I put a delivery confirmation on all that I sent. I will not do that this time unless you place a note with your fabrics requesting it and add extra for the postage.
All participants must be members of GardenWeb. If you do not live in the US and want to participate, get in touch with the hostess for special instructions. In 2008, the non-US swappers sent extra fabric for the hostess, allowing the hostess to purchase the necessary stamps. Personally, I think you should send at least 2 FQs to the hostess to allow her to purchase sufficient postage for you.
Please make sure that you include an envelope suitable for remailing to you. Sometimes the one that is on the outside arrives here with tears in it and although I try to reuse and patch up, I am not a miracle worker. LOL Having the second envelope inside avoids those problems.
Mark your calendar now. Our last swap is our November swap! Fabrics should be a Christmas or Winter theme. (Mail by Nov. 15)
I will be out of town for a little while early in November, but my husband will be here so no problem with the mail. I just wanted to let you know because if your package arrives after I am gone, I won't be able to acknowledge it until I get back.
Sometime this month, you will want to send an e-mail message to me so you can get my address for mailing. Unless you send e-mail to me or have your e-mail listed under GardenWeb, I will not be able to get in touch with you. We have found that using the method of sending through GardenWeb is pretty unsuccessful right now so please don't count on that as my way to get in touch with you.
If you plan to participate, please post here and send e-mail to me so I will know how many quilters will be joining in on the fun. I am looking forward to the swap and getting into the holiday season!
Thank you very much,
Jeanne

Glad to see some sign ups!
Kristene has already mailed. Cindy, I did not get an e-mail message from you. I guess all that you need is my mailing address. I will send it to you. I think Odessa already has it and I know Michelle has it.

Kitty,
I received your fat quarters. Very pretty. Thanks for joining in.

Nana and Diane,
I am sending my address so you can mail - just in case you don't have it. I don't want my address posted here so it is heading your way by e-mail. You are not too late - the posting said to mail by Nov. 15. I have been out of town for a week so just getting caught up on things from the computer. Welcome!

RE: E-mail

Diane and Nana,
You don't seem to have a link to your e-mail address so please e-mail me so I can send the address to you.

RE: November Fat Quarter Swap

Well, so much for organization taking over my life ....

When I first signed up for this swap, I pulled my fabrics, went ahead and got them ready to send, then put them in a safe place for sending when the time got near. So much for that! The hiding place is so safe that I haven't found them yet, and now the mailing deadline has passed. Well, that's what I get for trying to get organized out of some semblance of order that would make sense to me...

Hopefully everyone who was able to get theirs in the mail enjoys the fabrics they get back.

I'll get it together next time!

Odessa, sorry your packet got misplaced and did not get mailed to me. Diane, your FQs have arrived. Thanks for participating.
I will get together a list of all the people I have received from. I think they are all here by now, but I want to post the names in case another is on its way. If all of them are here, I will mail out next week.
Thanks!

RE: November Fat Quarter Swap

Two more packets of FQs arrived today. One is from Nana_2009 and the other I believe is from quiltparnter. I am checking to make sure I have the right person matched with the right Garden Web name.
I'll compile a complete list of what has arrived, but that may be after Saturday's mail delivery in case another arrives tomorrow.
The fat quarters are all really pretty and sure to get you in the holiday spirit!

RE: November Fat Quarter Swap

I have received packets with FQs from:
Kristene (tinyteena)
Jeanne (sandlapper_rose)
Michelle (micyrey)
Diane (custatistic)
Cindy (quiltpartner)
Valerie (nana_2009)
Kitty (redrosey_2008)
I will wait for today's mail to see if any more arrive, but I think those are all that were headed my way. If you mailed some FQs for this exchange and are not listed, let me know ASAP. My plan is to swap them tomorrow and get them back out the first part of next week.
I would like for you to have the Christmas fabrics early in December.
Jeanne

RE: November Fat Quarter Swap

The FQs are swapped and ready to go back out. Michelle (micyrey) added a bonus FQ so I drew a name and someone will get that as a surprise.
I will appreciate it if you will let me know when you receive your envelope just so I will know it did not get lost.
Thanks for joining in!

RE: November Fat Quarter Swap

FQs should have begun to arrive at their destinations - I expect Canada and Australia will take a bit longer. Anyway, I hope they travel safely and quickly.
Have a wonderful holiday season.
