A finish from retreat

I quilted and bound the baby quilt that I made at retreat. I will take it to work tomorrow to give to the grandfather. He had asked me several years ago if he ever had a grandchild if I would make it a quilt. He has not mentioned it since then, but I got in touch with his wife to find out the nursery colors and I will surprise him with it tomorrow.

This is going to be a huge surprise ~ and a perfect block for a Grand Baby! I can't wait to hear about his reaction when you give it to him.
This color combination is prettier in person. The yellow really "pops" and the grey looks so classic and upscale.
Great job quilting this.

The block pattern is Grandmother's Puzzle. It can be found on Quilter's Cache. I made 20 of the blocks. Valerie, the label is done on my embroidery machine, then I cut it into a square, then folded the square into a triangle and sewed it into the binding when I was sewing it on. Then I hand sewed the loose edge down while I was hand sewing the binding. Clear as mud? LOL
