Bill Sloan, architect and designer of Camp Cheerio passed away this past summer. The camp is having a memorial service in his honor today and 80 friends and family have joined us at camp. There is a display of memorabilia on the ground floor of Sloan Center. At lunch we met his wife and son and they knew us as "the quilters". We presented them a copy of the beautiful etching Nancy made of the Sloan Center with the quilts hanging around the porch. Both Mrs Sloan and her son became teary eyed and were very appreciative of the gift. She is currently serving as director of the camp and impacts hundreds of lives every year.
