Rotary cutter problem

My rotary cutter is acting up. The screw keeps tightening to the point that the wheel/blade locks up and won't turn. I keep loosening it and it quickly tightens up too much again. It's been getting quite a work out lately because I had to make 60 satin favour bags for my daughter's wedding. Sometimes I'm a dunce, and I miss the obvious.. but I was wondering if someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Did you just change blades? Could you have put the cutter back together incorrectly? Is the washer on backwards? Just a couple of ideas.

Susan, I have no advice on the rotary cutter, I am just curious about the satin wedding favor bags you are making. Do you have a pattern? What are you putting in the bags? My son is getting married at the end of November.

Hi Sue. I called Fiskars and they're going to send out a new washer. They have to mail it to my brother in NC, because they don't mail to Canada, and then he will mail it to me. After dinner, I'll post a pic of a bag on a new thread.
