Hi Cathy - I have actually made 2 blocks to send. The one block I had a little incident with one unit and had to substitute a different background fabric from the rest of the block. Will that be a problem? If it is, I will just send the one block. Let me know and I should still be able to get them in the mail this weekend.

For everyone entering the lotto, I think that general swapping 'rules' apply here, such as using 100% cotton, no pet hair/smoking and sending only the quality you would like to receive.
Edna, that said, if it's not very noticeable, I wouldn't worry about it. It is a scrappy block after all.
Though without seeing it, it's not a call I can make. How different is the new fabric? Is it quite obvious that it's different? Or does it blend well? If you feel that it would not detract from the overall quilt, then it should be ok.
If you still aren't sure, then how about posting a picture?
Other participants are encouraged to post their opinion on the matter also.

It would always be up to the winner of the Lotto whether they wanted to use the block or not. If it's nice but doesn't fit with the others it might make a nice pillow or could be used for something else.

The backgrounds are both cream... thats about all the similarity there is. My thought was that all the blocks coming from different people will have different backgrounds so, I felt that it would probably still blend in.

I'm not sure how to post a photo and I haven't been able to find any information on how to do it. If anyone could give me the steps, I'd be happy to post one.

Edna, there are several ways to do that, and I think this would be the easiest one for you. First of all, you have to have a copy of a digital image stored on your computer somewhere. Then to to the gallery section of this forum. In this section, it allows you to upload your picture files. Start a thread and type in the message and hit the preview button. When you do, the next screen will have a box on it above the message you typed and it allows you to browse your computer for the image file you want to upload to the site. Hit the browse button, find the file, and double click......then go to the bottom of the screen and hit the submit button. You won't get a preview of your pic, but the finished message will have a link to it.

OK - I finally got a picture posted in the gallery! (and learned how to use a photo resizer LOL) Check it and let me know what you think.

I've been thinking about next month's lotto already... I'm really excited about it and hope that everyone likes it! It's a little bit different, but oh so easy and makes a great quilt too! But more about that in a week or two. :)

Well, you sure had a rip-roaring response to this month's lotto. Some lucky person shall have nearly a full sized quilt arrive and it'll be extra special, because you can look at the blocks and feel the companionship and warmth of this forum.

I have a few blocks I'd love to ask you to consider, but was waiting to see if you wanted suggestions. There are so many neat ones out there to try.

My package went into the mail yesterday (Friday). I had a bit of trouble rounding up an American dollar bill! You know the banks don't carry anything less than US $20 and a money order costs $5 LOL I was lucky enough to find a friend who had some US $1 bills.
