I have been very negligent about checking in with you all lately.

My MIL was back in the hospital and of course we are in the mist of the biggest canning season ever.

I hope all is well with each of you and that you have been very busy making beautiful quilty things. As for me, my sewing machine has been very lonely lately.

RE: Hi all

We miss you, Vicky! Come back and visit when you find a minute. Sorry to hear about your MIL; it's always hard to deal with parent's health issues. Didn't you have 2 or 3 weddings this summer, too?

RE: Hi all

Great to hear from you, Vicky. Check back when you're able to.

I know about canning season from my younger years. Jams and jellies, pies, applesauce and butter, veggies, fruit, tomato juice, etc. With a big family and dad working 2 jobs, my sisters and I helped mom do a lot of canning. The boys had to snap the green beans, shell the black-eyes and limas and clean the corn. We really didn't appreciate all the fresh food that was available to us until we were older.

RE: Hi all

Good to hear from you, glad you have been busy canning. Our canning season was very small this year. Not enough rain to produce much. You can get back to your quilting when it cools off.
