For those of us who love modern fabrics, here is a site I stumbled upon that has some incredible patterns.

Here is a link that might be useful: Marcia Derse Fiber

Beautiful fabrics! I have been reading 4 or 5 books about Modern quilting, and liberated sewing , and color in modern quilt making. All books I ordered from the library, and all came in to my local branch within a few days of each other---these fabrics are the kinds of prints shown in these books! Oh my! I need more time and money - I want it all! Now!
Thanks for sharing this site Lois!

RE: Stunning fabrics

Hi Lois & thanks,

Really a nice place to browse, great fun. I did batik as a teenager & went to Textile School for college, did some things of this ilk & lots of testing of colors & pigments (so fun!!).

Recently I took a little class of hand printing fabrics, last summer in fact, it was an absolute blast!! We did batik w/ soy resist (in place of wax), I'm not sure the point of the substitution, but the effects were similar & so much fun!

Thanks for reminding me that this kind of work is still my first love, even if I don't get to do much of it anymore.

Gosh I could browse there all day!
