| I can't believe it is the end of July already. At the beginning of this year, I think my sewing goals were to do four different quilt patterns that require a lot of one material. My plan was to make two of each pattern.
Well, I completed the first pattern with two quilts, then I got sidetracked somehow and started working with solid color fabric scraps that are left over from aprons my mom made and she used the solid color fabrics for the backings of the aprons. I cut all the fabric down into 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" strips, and have all the other odd size strips in a separate pile. I've made 3 flower quilts out of the 3 1/2" strips and have enough red/maroon cut out for 3 more. I've made one rail fence from just the blues, and one log cabin with pastels vs brights. I'm finishing up quilting the 3rd flower quilt, and then I think I'll go back to the second pattern that requires a lot of yardage of one fabric. But part of me is thinking I could just start on the 3 red/maroon flower quilts, or a strip quilt with the odd sized strips,,, or I could start..... (Do you think this is quilting ADD?) |

| I started back into my Stars Challenge due done by September 1st. Hand is healed now, but pink like a baby's bottom and tender. I don't know if I'll have time for any other quilting than the challenge. I have a finished one to just put binding on. A Cathedral Windows piece I want to turn into a pillow, and two more UFOs..........so I shouldn't start anything else. Right? ...........uhm Right? LOL |

| My main goal this year was/is to finish at least one UFO every month. So far, 8 are done and out of the house. There are 2 more I'd like to get done before the end of the year, but time will tell as not much quilting will be accomplished for the next few months......maybe some applique. @:) SharonG/FL |

| I feel as though I accomplished a lot in July. The largest is the DWR that I started 2 years ago. I just got it back from the longarm quilter on Friday. I have to put the binding on and IT WILL BE FINISHED!!!!!!!! I cut a practice piece of bias binding tonight and made a sample of the scalloped edge to practice putting the binding on the curved edge. In addition to the DWR, I made my August runner today. This month has been very productive because I spent an entire week quilting the first of the month. BTW..Sharon, are you planning to go the quilt show this year? It is August 12-14. Friday is the only day I am free to meet you if you plan to come. I have to work until 1:00 and then it is a 40 minute drive to the coliseum. I could probably get off work a little early if you want to meet me at the show. Linda |

| Calliope - but if you don't start anything else, how will you have any UFO's?! I say, Start-Away! (Does that even make any sense?) Sharon - You go girl! You are ahead of schedule! - the applique would slow me down. Linda - Isn't it such a good feeling to finish up a long-term project? Can't wait to see pics! |
