Pic of Mexico Marti's interpretation of QuiltDiva's Mexican Tiles

Some of us were discussing the pattern Quilt Diva (Kay) created named Mexican Tiles in MaryLiz's thread on entering your own pattern in a contest.

Kay made this gorgeous quilt and then Marti liked it so much she asked for the pattern and made her own. Since there are so many newbies on here lately I thought you might like to see the picture of it.

This is the one Marti made. I don't have a copy of Kay's original but it was also beautiful. And then Kay very generously shared her pattern with those of us who asked for it.

I think it's a beautiful orginial design, and Marti's colors are fabulous! Isn't Kay's more blue?

Very beautiful work Marti! :)

I just posted on the other thread but I'll do that here too. That pattern did not come completely out of my head. I found a pic on the internet of almost the exact same quilt and loved it so I just winged it and figured a pattern out using EQ. But Marti did the most fantastic job on her quilt and it just blew me away and still does.

I often think of that quilt, too, and dream of someday copying it, Kay having kindly sent me the pattern. But even if I somehow succeeded in making a reasonable facsimile of the top, I know I could never duplicate Marti's wonderful hand quilting.
