How sweet. The first flower of spring.

Since everything is mostly brown up here, I'm craving it color. Thanks. Why is it called 'cave-man"?

(I do have my first small blue flowers peeking out today. Yeah!)

Thanks for all the positive comments! I am SO ready for spring - it has been in the 60s and 70s and yet, tomorrow we are expecting 4" of snow and highs in the 30s!

Ricky Tims has a quilting technique that you don't mark anything, you just stack your background fabric and flower fabric and then take your rotary cutter - and CUT! Then you repeat with the stem/leaf fabric. One of the gals in my quilting group went to a class with him and she taught us the method. It was fun - but I think I would be a little happier if I had pinned the two fabrics together because they kept slipping. ALSO, you don't trim any of it until everything is sewn together. Crazy. I am thinking of giving it another try with some different curves to see how it looks.
