Finish the strip quilt. Then start back on the bordered diamonds pain-in-the-@*$ that I put aside not long ago. (I hate UFO's)

Just to keep sewing and brush up on things. To make time to be quiet, relax - which I get from working on quilts.

    My April quilting goals are:
    1. Sew together my Grandma's queensize quilt top
    2. Sandwhich the layers together for Grandma's quilt top so it will be ready for me to start hand quilting in May
    3. Make some Lotto blocks

I figure less is more this month so I don't get burned out.

    Best to you,
    Sandra

I thought I was way far behind on the BOM I started last June, but when I consider there are a total of 38 - 9 1/2" blocks and I have 7 to do, that's not so bad! I cut fabric for 5 blocks and made kits so they'll go pretty fast once I start sewing. Have also completed sewing Signs of Summer lattice blocks. DGS ended up having dental surgery this morning and has been here all day - which means I didn't get anything else done.

Keep up the good work everyone.

I took my favorite machine to be cleaned today. No piecing for me for a week.
    My April goals are:
    1. Load Relay for Life quilt on frame.
    2. Make Craftsy BOMs (English paper piecing)
3.Start machine embroidery for baby quilt.
    4. Make a baby quilt for nephew due this month.

We'll see how much I get done with the machine in the shop.

WOW - hard to decide everything that really needs to get done! First was to find my sewing machine & get my sewing room back in order after being gone for almost 4 months!

    1. April block lotto - 3 blocks done
    2. Host a sew-day for my quilt group (April 21) - make a quilt of valor
    3. Double-Irish Chain retirement quilt - finish blocks & start assembly
    4. Start looking for airline tickets to the quilt retreat in October!

Finish off hand quilting the Sun and Stars quilt I started over a year ago. It's time to do it if my arthritic thumb allows.

Do a couple more of the Lotto blocks.

That's all I plan. I'll be taking a week off to head for Texas and I have a garden to put in when I get back.

    My goals for April:

To get back into sewing again - my husband has had me doing his secretarial work for him over the past 3 months. So now my daughter & I have set him up with his own computer & email account & hopefully I'll be free to sew.

I have begun making the Lotto blocks - finished April blocks and will start on May

I want to work on my Birthday Blocks from last year and start getting them together.

Start out with small goals so I'm not overwhelmed

Looks like that is it for April.
I've had that much done since April 12th.
I decided to hand-quilt the 'Violets' one, so I have been working on that. It will be on-going for a while.

We are going on a trip so no quilting for the rest of this month. I will take along the 'Violets' one and work on it whenever I get time.

Hope you are making progress on your goals.
Remember.... take time to enjoy the process!.
    Will post again in May.

I finished quilting the wall hanging, now it just needs binding which should go on today, so it will be finished this month.

I also cut out most of the pieces for a new top, so finishing that will become a May goal. :)

I finished my wall hanging! The pattern is Baltimore Blues from Fat Cat Patterns. It was a BOM several years ago...I finished the hand appliqued blocks then they sat in the closet for a couple of years; last year I finally got them out and assembled the top then it went back in the closet. A week or so ago I got it out and quilted it.

I stippled the background of the applique blocks and did a leaf design in the border.

    That is a stunner!!!!
I have not done any hand applique and when I see the beautiful work everyone here does, I think I never shall.
Well, maybe once! But something a lot simpler than this.
    Beautiful!!!!

Theresa, this was my first hand applique project, other than taking a Hawaiian quilt class at QU (a one-block quilt). I find it relaxing and very easy to do.

If you think you want to try it, I recommend one of Nancy Chong's Quilt University classes - either the Hawaiian applique or the 2 fabric applique. She's a great teacher!

Donna, your quilt is beautiful! It gives me hope that someday I'll work on my applique quilt again.

    This was my April list:
2 mini quilts for the guild done
1 small quilt to go with the black teddy bear done
Finish the 'Fun & Done' picnic quilt by 14th! - about 1/2 done
Finish and post the Aug & Sept lotto blocks - not at all done
(Maybe) Finish the blue stars lap quilt - maybe not

I did a lot of quilting this month but most of it involved the mini quilts. I think it's time for me to move back to my other projects for a while. Let's see what happens in May!
