I aim to complete at least one of my mom's UFO's, ideally two. both just need binding. i am really enjoying using the bernina - i can do a lot more than my singer! )

I have been MIA for awhile. I hope to put blocks for a string quilt top together this weekend. I am making it up as I go so I will probably have to do some adjustments to get the blocks to all fit together!

I have a comfort quilt on the frame that is going to Scotland when it's done. I should be able to finish it this weekend if I can get the cat off it.

I'm also knitting a lace shawl in the evenings while watching (well, really listening to) TV.

i went to the sale at the lqs that is closing today. they didn;t have any batiks left or neutrals so i didn't know what to buy as i'm not interested in building a stash. i settled on 3 kid friendly prints and some matching fabric to start making a dozen quilts for the second children's home in burkina faso. they are looking for the land now so i have time. i'll have to buy more coordinating fabric once i decide on the patterns.

I am in Salt Lake City for work. I am doing some hand applique in the evenings while sitting in the hotel room. Tomorrow, if I finish work in time, I am going to my favorite quilt shop in the country. It is American Quilting in Orem. I went there the last time that I was here and loved it. Sunday morning, I fly back home. I am dreading Atlanta airport...It was pure he!! flying through there yesterday. Between Chattanooga having a 4 hour delay and Atlanta having a 2 hour delay, I was exhausted when I got here.

I spent 3 days this week cutting out granny square block pieces and plan to do more this weekend. Now am crocheting some on an afgan I am making. It's 70*F outside today so I think I may take a walk to my back yard flower garden and see if any daffs are starting to sprout and figure out how much pruning my 5-petal rose bushes need.
