Hi, I usually post over at the KT, but I do lurk here sometimes. I'm thinking of getting a new sewing machine, and the only local dealer only sells Bernina and Janome. I would get one of those machines so I don't have to travel far for servicing, like I would if I bought another brand. I'm thinking of getting the Bernina 550. I mostly do quilts, but do a little bit of other stuff as well. Does anybody have knowledge or opinions about this machine? I can get it for a good price- it was used one weekend by a demonstrator at some sort of event or retreat. I have to go back to sew on it myself because I was too rushed the other day.Any feedback would be appreciated.
