Thank you for posting this. I have been a fan of Leah for a very long time. I keep her e-mails in my box so I can go back to check them. That said I never gave a great deal of thought to the real person behind the designs. After reading her blog I feel the importance of what she is doing and has accomplished is such a very short time.

I find her designs very dense for a quilt, but her show quilts are goregous. She is very talented and I found her site about a year ago. I can't imagine a mother so bad you would have to cut off all ties with them. It's amazing Leah made it through life so well.
I have meant to check out the MccTavish book for a long time.

It sounds sad, but I know that sometimes that it really is the healthy thing to do. Did you see/read about her "Sinkhole" quilt... it had all those negative (nasty) words spoken to/about her. She ended up destroying it. I can see how that whole process would have been therapeutic for Leah.

She is an amazing young woman.
