Best Friends Birthday Blocks (Jan.) - Jane/wishfulthinking

I have not noticed a heading posted for Jane and her birthday is on Jan. 25th. She is in the Best Friends group. I just wanted to make sure there is a heading on here so you can list when you send blocks to her and she can let you know when the blocks are received.

| Hi Jane, I'm working on your blocks kind of slowly. I have my dad with me now for awhile unexpectedly. We just found out my brother has cancer in his right lung and his spine. My dad lives with him and his wife. I have everything cut out, it is just a matter of putting it together. I am sure I will mail it out in a few days and hope you get it in time for your birthday. |

| More blocks in the mail yesterday! This time from Michelle and Cathy. They are wonderful! I'm not going to go into any more detail right now, but will save it all to the end. I have to say though that I am amazed at the generosity and thoughtfulness of the members of this group and this board. I can learn a lot from y'all, and not just about quilting. Thanks so much! |

I hope you have a wonderful birthday. 
Thank you, Dianne, for offering to get more blocks sent if someone is short. However, I will ask everyone to maybe give in a week or two until after their birthday before deciding someone has not sent. Sometimes the mail is just very slow. Also, if someone has not sent after that amount of time, Please let me know. I asked for phone numbers this year so I could check on people (see if they might be sick, no longer interested or whatever) - we really need to know that to keep the group going strong all year. Once again, Happy, Happy Birthday, Jane. Enjoy your day! Let us know who has sent by posting it here and we would love a picture later on, too! As for any non-senders, get in touch with me and Dianne. (Thanks so much, Dianne, for organizing a back-up plan for the group.)

| Thanks so much for the birthday wishes and to everyone who has and will send blocks. In the last few days I've also gotten blocks from Robin, Cindy, Sarah and Brenda. And I love them all. I'll have to figure out how to post a picture...once I take it. Had a wonderful birthday as I was able to work on piecing a quilt all day long. Actually, I was ripping out and re-sewing a bunch of pinwheel blocks. Why is it that I am perfectly capable of re-sewing a pretty respectable block, but not at all capable of getting it right the first time? |

| Wishfulthing, I am so glad that you had a good birthday! Excuse me for popping in here, but I thought that those in the Best Friends group might be checking this thread. We have had a chage in the group and I just sent e-mail to each one of you, so if you don't receive it - please let me know. | Hi everyone! Received my birthday block from Vicky and I think that has me taken care of. Thank you so much, Vicky! It is a lovely block. I need to get a space cleared off and lay them all out & try & get a picture for y'all. Sorry for being late posting this...I actually received the block a few days ago but have been totally wrapped up (literally almost) quilting a queen size top that I made from one of the Kaffe Fassett books. Thanks again to everyone for their blocks. I know things have been a little rocky with the changes in the group & all, but it has been a lot, lot, lot of fun! |

| Today was a good day. It snowed all day, I had the day off, sewed, and I received my first Best Friends Birthday Block from Michelle for my birthday in March-it's lovely, great colors. Thanks so much. Looking forward to receiving the rest. Eileen |
