Utah Iron County Fair

Last weekend was the county fair. I always get inspired walking around the displays of quilts and other needle work.

This year I had the privilege of judging the (childrens) open goat show and the open chicken show.
This is the blue-ribbon-winning chicken. She is a white-crested black Polish. She's very tame, and
is named Rock and Roll (for obvious reasons).

What an unusual chicken-pretty. When my children were young a friend gave them a pair of bantams. Then we ended up with two pair. We shortly moved to the country and they had chickens , ducks, quail, a pair of doves, geese, and on and on. They had rabbits and my son showed them. I think it was a great childhood. I have seen similar chickens at the fair.

What a lovely chicken and what a perfect name for her. It is a good thing we have a small lot or I would have a collection of all kinds of animals. Still want a mini-horse.
