Pics from Juneau

Juneau was our 2nd stop. We went panning for gold and to the salmon bake. There is no road into Juneau, you must fly in or come by boat. The roads go about 6 miles out of town and gradually just disappear.

Mountains along the way

DH, MIL, and DD#2 on the dock by the ship.

On the way to gold panning.

Gold River (yes, it was very cold!)

Crabby Jack demonstrates panning for MIL. He is the most wonderful guide, a true gentleman. He said he got is name because if you give him a crab he is a very happy man.

Crabby Jack and DD#2.

Mountains around Gold River.

DD#2 and me are really enjoying our salmon bake. The food was really good and they had chicken and ribs if you really don't like salmon. There was also baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, cornbread, and much much more.

Walking into Juneau from the ship for a bit of sightseeing and shopping.

Red Dog Saloon, where Wyatt Earp checked his gun and never came to claim it.

Wyatt Earp's gun is still hanging in the saloon.

DH and DD#2 enjoying the hot tub on Lido deck.

Stingray towel animal. The waiters took a night off and didn't perform for us this night.

This was one of our favorite stops. Crabby Jack was an wonderful tour guide. If you do the Gold Panning and Salmon Bake experience, try to get him as your guide.
