Happy Mothers' Day

Happy Mothers Day to one and all who are mothers, grandmothers, aunts, teachers, friends and all who take the place of mothers. So how are you all celebrating Mothers' Day today? We am going out to dinner later with my son and his family. My husband is taking me out to breakfast after church later on this morning. I already went to the cemetery to visit my mother and bring her some flowers. In between I will work on a crib quilt for a friend. I would do some planting but guess what, we are expecting frost tonight and tomorrow morning. I will be covering up my tomato plants and bringing in the hanging pots:( Oh well, that's the Great Northeast for ya.

Photobucket to you too, geri!!

My partner and I are not mothers ourselves; however, we always celebrate in some way with our moms. We went to my MIL yesterday, took her lunch and this table topper I had made for her. She loved it. We will do the same for my mom next Thursday and include my Aunt (a May birthday). We'll play 45's, a card game which is very popular in Nova Scotia and they both will receive table toppers, too.

This year it is a bit difficult for us to make the rounds (an hour or more to each mom) because I have a broken ankle and my partner has second degree burns on her leg. The moms understand that we have to combine their visits with other errands. Of course we have phoned both today.

Hoping all of you have a great day with your mothers and/or families.

Happy Mother's Day everyone. DH got his mom and me5 rose bushes. We planted them this afternoon and tonight we are going out to dinner.

Love the table topper.

RE: Happy Mothers' Day

This is the first Mother's Day without my mom, but I know she's where she has wanted to be for a long time....and that's ok.

No big plans here. The girls and other family members up north are at Riley Hospital putting on a dinner at the Ronald McDonald House there. It's a bit sobering but we'll get through it.

DD3 and DGD (live in town) brought me one of those big cookies and a hyacinth and cards....DGD's was so sentimental I almost cried. I love hyacinths and will have to see about putting the bulbs in the freezer and then bring them out in the spring.
