Hello: I'd like to build a large deck on the South-facing side of my Las Vegas home. This deck will receive a LOT of direct sunlight year-round with temperatures in the summer reaching +110 degrees. I'm thinking of using Ipe for the deck flooring and wondered if anyone in a desert region could give me advice/feedback on the durability of Ipe in hot, hot, hot climates. Recommendations on specific brands of protective coatings would also be appreciated. I'd like to see the wood maintain its look/durability for 10+ years or so.
