I was compacting cambridge pavers this weekend, prior to installing the polymeric sand. I began closest to the house and worked my way out with a plate compactor. As I got about 20 feet out, water began to squirt out from between the pavers as I ran the compactor over them. it got worse as I got further into the job. After I finished compacting, I realized a "spring" had sprung between two pavers and was pumping a small but steady trickle of water. I was afraid I had somehow broken a water pipe, but the spring went dry after a few hours and there was no loss of water pressure.

Keeping in mind that this was less than a week after Sandy blew through with about 6" of rain, has anyone ever run into something like this with a high water table?
