I put down "Cabot 1480 Redwood Semi-solid oil decking stain" a couple of years ago. My Wife hates the color and wants me to change it to more of a natural brown/tan color. I haven't tried doing anything yet. My concern is I put it on not only the pressure treated floor, spindles and railing but also on wood siding on a screened in porch that is adjoined to the deck. I think that siding is probably pine but not sure. When I put it on I can remember watching that siding soak up the stain like it was a sponge. I'm okay with the new stain being solid. So my question is do i need to strip, sand, clean or just go right over the old stuff? I do have a pretty good pressure washer. Thanks to anyone who can help.
