Olympic stain: apply even to damp deck?

Is it too good to be true? "Olympic Maximum Stain and Sealant" says it can be applied to damp decks. No need to wait for deck to totally dry after washing... just soak up puddles.

My problem with products like these are they designed to be a short meaning not proper application, in other words kinds like a crutch. These types of products do not properly protect the wood and will generally need replacing much sooner. You would not find pros using these type products for that exact reason but to the general public they fit right in with the current "instant gratification" society.
