Staining a deck and running out of time

Stahn

Hello everybody, I am new here but I am in desperate need of opinions / help.

I know there is a billions of articles about there on how to strip a deck of paint... but I am trying to go from latex paint to stain, preferably semi-transparent. We are annoyed of high traffic areas looking like crap. Therefore we are trying to avoid solid stain and latex paints.

So took the sander to the deck now and have removed most of the paint. Now comes the part that every post and guide seems to forget! What about the cracks between the boards?! I have white paint sticking out everywhere and wondering what to do.

Due to a natural disaster, we had to move around for the summer so it is the reason we have started so late.

Any ideas? Take a dark latex paint and cover up the white? Will a dark stain work? We have tried 3 different strippers and all it has done is cause dark stains on the wood.
