Salvage 50 year old redwood boards?

I know this isn't a fence forum, but it seems the best place to ask the question. I'm replacing 100 ft of old redwood basketweave fence. The 52-year old boards are 1x4x8ft old growth. This stuff, about 1500 lf, is all heartwood, straight, and you have to look hard to find a knot. But its very dry and brittle. I don't have any immediate use (or storage room) for it but hate to see it fed to a recycler's chipper.

Even that old growth cvg sweet material has a life span exposed to the weather.

It might be possible to use it inside as panneling. J.

Where are you located? Depending on any nail holes, it may be suitable for planing down and using for trim or such.
