Framing a Porch Slope
| | |
Posted by uncledavid (My Page) on Tue, Oct 13, 09 at 17:08
| I am rebuilding an old Victorian porch. The floor boards will run perpendicular to the house, the joists will run parallel with the house to headers on about 7 foot centers. I want to put about a 1/4 inch/foot slope on the floor. The question is: how do I install the framing in to achieve the slope? |

| Assuming the headers will run perpindicular to the house, you could either scribe the headers with the fall you want and run your joists to that, or run your headers parallell to the house and have joists scribed on top of the headers every 4'. Run perpindicular joisting to the scribed joists to accept the perpindicular floor boards. |
