Hi,

We're building a screened-in porch and would like either a railing or a short knee wall. Neither is required by code, but we will have little kids running around, kicking balls, etc.

We love the look of a railing, but someone told us the standard height is 36" - I'm thinking that might be right in our line of vision if we're sitting down? But would it look weird to make a shorter railing? I know with a solid knee wall we could keep it pretty short without it looking odd.

Any opinions are welcome :)
