We are going to build a screened-in porch, and we're currently in the process of talking with contractors and doing our research. We've already heard so many different opinions/recommendations on materials!

We are leaning toward doing this:
Pressure-treated wood for deck floor, which will be stained brown
Pressure-treated wood for framing/posts, which will be painted white
Cedar for interior ceiling (tongue and groove), which will be stained brown

My questions are:
1. Is there any reason to use cedar over pressure treated for the posts/framing if those parts are just going to be painted white?

2. Can pressure-treated wood be stained or painted just like cedar?

3. Are there any other concerns/considerations with these materials that we should know about?

This is all new to us, so any advice is helpful and appreciated!
