Our house is on a hill, and the backyard is a full floor below the front of the house. It is a pain to get to backyard. We are planning to make a new door in the family room, and build a small landing and staircase along the foundation of the house down to the backyard. Our designer suggested that we can use the modular staircase from www.steptoewife.com. We don't really like it, and wonder what options we have. Obviously we can go for regular PT lumber. But that's ugly and requires more maintenance than I'd like. Thoughts?
